An internal name change is legally possible and secure for universities, colleges and schools without any problems, as they do not issue official documents (passport, ID, driver's license). Most Swiss universities and also many higher education institutions also offer this possibility officially and have created guidelines for this purpose (see enclosures; overview "Swiss universities and higher education institutions", various guidelines (UZH, ETH ZH, University of Lucerne, University of Basel, FHNW).
In addition, the "Guide for Universities on the Inclusive Treatment of All Sexes" (see enclosure) provides a good overview of the legal situation in Switzerland as well as various starting points.
